- The end of planning? Just maybe
Text Version
Toronto Star article (October 11, 2008) by Christopher Hume Urban Affairs Columnist
"...everywhere we turn, the city is being transformed by businesses that put their own interests ahead of the community. All too often, they are aided and abetted by governments at every level. What's good for business, we are told, is good for us. Thus we are only too happy to help those who would remake the city in their own image, not ours."
- Another Powerfailure in Bridletowne September 30, 2008
"Ironically, the Malibu Planner for Bridlewood Mall expansion had to cancel the last of the public information sessions Tuesday evening due to a sustained powerfailure that affected the area around Bridlewood Mall, north of Finch. Local residents had pointed out in earlier meetings that the local Hydro infrastructure required major upgrades before even considering adding the 8 condo towers to the Mall Parking Lot. Residents are concerned that the planned development will further stress an already overloaded service.
